My credit cards are maxed out so there has been no unusual activity, but what should I do if these people have stolen my identity.
I recieved an email to update my login ID and password and ss number for an account and replied.?
Never, ever would any respectable company send you an e-mail for this kind of information.
Contact every last one of your creditors and bank immediately. Tell them what you did and that you need new account numbers etc. Let the Social Security Administration know what happened as well. Be prepared for some stern lectures.
I doesn't make any difference if your cards are maxed out or not...the scammer now has ALL of your personal information and will no doubt start ruining you.
Talk to a lawyer as well.
Do this immediately.
Reply:there is no limit to what people can do with your id....... in some case they took loans for houses, cars etc...report the matter to the police asap....and check your credit regularly.
Reply:1. You responded to an email that was spam, and you should never respond to requests like that. (did you give yahoo your SSN to sign up? NO!!!)
2. Get credit monitoring services, ASAP, if you gave out your SSN.
3. If your identity ends up being stolen notify your credit card companies, ASAP
4. Get off the computer until you take some computer classes on what to and what not to respond to. (general idea, if you don't personally know them, don't' open it or respond, just DELETE it)
