Email messages still shown on login window?

ok you know when you turn on the computer and it directs you to the window with all the user accounts that's on the database? well on my msn account i have, i haven't checked the mailbox for days and days... and days, so like 3 days ago it showed that i had over 600 messages unread. so i deleted them once i saw them and the new messages that were being sent to me. it's been like few days since then and when i look at the user accounts it still shows that i had the EXACT same number of messages i had the day i deleted them. What exactly is the problem? is it like my computer's screwed up or sumthing?

I had the same thing happen to me just not msn. so what I did was I deleted all, then went into the delete file and deleted again. It worked for me. Now I do that all the time and it never happens anymore. Sometimes though I noticed that it is a delayed reaction. It goes away.
